Birmingham Hollydazzle Crafts Show

There will be a new Christmas market on December 10 and 11 at the Brook Highland Plaza on Hwy 280. Colleen Burback (of "God is Good" Christian-inspired t-shirts) has been nice enough to organize this show for Birmingham vendors wanting to get in one more show before Christmas. Hours each day are 9:00am-7:00pm. There will be a gift wrapping station and hourly door prizes and admission is free.

Also, if you are interested in being a vendor or know someone who might, this is a 20,000 square foot venue so she is still looking for more vendors!

Colleen is asking for help from the vendors in getting the word out so if you would like to put this event on your blog, facebook page, email, twitter,... it would be greatly appreciated! It should be great.

New Gift Ideas!

Here is a picture of an old window with houndstooth print covering 2 panes, red corkboard covering two panes (you can hang jewelry, photos, etc.) and chalkboard paint on two panes. These will sell for $32.00 and would make a great Christmas gift!

Also posted is a picture of some new items coming in - various size frames with cream burlap covering corkboard so you can use as a jewelry holder!

Large 8x10 Picture Frames on Rustic Wood Board

Here are some pictures of some frames I'm working on for the shop. They are large wood boards painted and distressed that hold 8x10 photos. Will come with hook on back to hang. These will sell for $14.00 - $16.00 each. Great baby present (can do in pink or blue) or Christmas gift! Will come in various colors or can do custom frames - you choose your paint and bow color! Just wanted to let you know that if you sent an email to be added to the email distribution list but didn't get an email to print to receive the crazy cash coupons, you can still get the discounts, just mention it when you come in. The coupons are valid tomorrow and through the end of November. More digital camera problems so don't have many pictures of furniture but do have quite a few pieces in the shop including a french blue ladies desk/vanity, several new chairs, a great round tufted cream ottomon, china cabinet, mirrors, nightstand, hutch, Mexican pine table, shelves and more!

Gift certificates are now available at the shop. I will try to post a picture tomorrow but they are very nice cards in a clear envelope and tied with a ribbon. You can purchase these for any denomination over $25.00!

Nursery Decorating and Design

A very sweet customer at the shop, Abby Yates, recently had a beautiful baby girl named Harper Ann. Abby was formerly working as manager at Francesca's at the Summit but is staying home to be with the baby. She is also interested in using her decorating and design experience to help other moms or moms-to-be with their nursery design! Customer Pieces

Here are a couple of pieces that I recently did for customers. The old sewing machine table is a piece the customer brought in and she wanted the piece black and distressed with the dill pickle green drawers and it's really cute. The chest the customer bought from me but wanted it painted black with silver accents. I think it turned out cute so it's always nice getting ideas from customers!

New Shop Hours

This week was the start of new shop hours for The French Flea. Previous shop hours were Tuesday-Saturday from 11:00-5:00 but have changed that to Wednesday - Saturday from 11:00-5:00. So much of this business is working with customers who are looking for specific pieces and since the shop was closed Sunday and Monday, Monday was really the only day to go shopping for furniture. So hopefully having another day to shop will help to find great pieces for our customers! We apologize for any inconvenience and if you need to pick something up or it's more convenient for you to come one of those two days, feel free to call and we may be painting in the shop or if we're nearby will be happy to come meet you!
