I think it's such a cute idea to use big chalkboards in your home. You may have some large ornate picture frames with out of date pictures and it's an easy and inexpensive way to update the look in a room by taking out the old picture from the frame and turn it into a chalkboard with chalkboard paint!

Miscellaneous!
So I made sure to watch the Nate show this morning to see Shaunna from the Perfectly Imperfect blog. She did a great job and they showed lots of footage from her home where you can get tons of ideas from painted and distressed furniture to architectural pieces to great interesting vintage finds!
A local dealer had given me a couple of plain white paneled doors to do something with so here is one - I based it in black then did a quick dry brush over that with cream and then did another quick brush coat over that with a taupe then distressed and added a pair of sconces. Pieces like this just tucked in a corner or hung on the wall can add rustic and architectural interest to your home!
I blogged this summer after I did the Briarwood Flea Market about meeting a couple who are pickers and travel around the country picking from some of the biggest flea markets. They have a sale to dealers and I really wanted to go but I had to take my car in that morning and by the time I was ready to go, another dealer told me they were almost sold out! But here is one piece another dealer bought at the sale that I'm painting - it's so cute and she also bought a cute vintage cupboard I'm working on. I will definitely go early to the next sale!

Nate Berkus, Ruffled Burlap Lampshade, New in Booth, Chalk Paint!
Here is a ruffled burlap lampshade I recently did. I keep seeing these on Pinterest and other places and I did mine a little differently but you can usually find tutorials along with the pictures posted on Pinterest.
I was at Faux Studio Designs yesterday to buy some more chalk paint. I haven't been working on furniture as much lately since I'm getting ready for shows and I am looking forward to using it again on a couple of customer projects. Here is a door Stacey has faux painted and a mirror in her studio!
Here is a cute cabinet I put in my booth today. The left side has been cut out and a copper piece is laid in there but there isn't a hole cut for a sink so it could be made into a sink or it would be an adorable changing table or you could even put a cute woven basket in there and hold items! It is priced at $85.00.
Shaunna from perfectlyimperfectblog.com is going to be on the Nate Berkus show tomorrow! Her blog is on my blog roll and I always like to see what great projects she has to blog about! You can go to this link, http://www.perfectlyimperfectblog.com/2011/10/nate-air-date-more-of-nyc.html, for more info. and to see pics of her trip to New York to tape the show!
