Kista, the owner of the hair salon next to my shop, is going to be leaving soon for another opportunity and I had thought about taking the space but decided since I only moved several months ago to stay put! However, Kista's lease is not up until July and I would love to help get the word out to see if anyone is interested. It is a great corner space with an open floor layout. I know that I have talked to several people in my shop about an interest in having a shop. If you are interested but don't want sole responsibility, please let me know and I might could help with anyone who might want to go in with one or more people! Or if you or someone you might know has an interest in any type of business, please let me know at 994-4208 or kbush422@gmail.com.
This piece would be great in a child's room to store toys. Two drawers open up to cabinet below. This piece still needs coat of paint and two drawer pulls added.
The second link is to The Magic Brush where Jennifer shows how to paint a ceiling medallion. The instructions look very easy. If you add a ceiling medallion and chandelier sleeve to your iron or crystal chandelier, it will give any room a very elegant, finished look! I'm adding this great blog to my blog list today!
Today I'm linking to two tutorials - the first one is a tutorial on floating plates. (Sorry, if the link doesn't work you may just have to copy and paste) This is from a beautiful blog, Laurie Anna's Vintage Home. I will add her blog to my list.
I posted below about the wonderful job Michelle Shunnarah did in decorating little Stella Shober's bedroom! I heard from Michelle and she gave me her contact information in case you want to get in touch with her about her design/decorating services. Here it is:
I first heard of barn sales from this blog, La Maison Rustique. I think they are much more popular in the West but I think it would be great to have them here. I'm posting some pictures of La Maison Rustique's Barn Sales.
I would love to have monthly barn sales in the Birmingham area and have several vendors with rustic, vintage, distressed, architectural and salvage finds. So...if you know of anyone who just happens to have a barn they might be willing to rent out once a month, please email me at kbush422@gmail.com!!!
Here are pics from La Maison Rustique.
I am adding both of these blogs to my blog list - lamaisonrustique.typepad.com is the former name of this blog but it has been changed to urbanbarn155.blogspot.com
I had asked customer Brandi Shober to send me pics of her little girl Stella's bedroom and she has finished the room and sent the pics today. It is so beautiful and adorable and Brandi's friend/neighbor and a customer of mine, Michelle Shunnarah, is the decorator. Michelle is very multi-talented and is venturing into the decorating business and I have seen the room in person - she did an incredible job! I will see if Michelle would like to give me her contact info in case you want to contact her about any decorating needs you may have. Brandi bought the mirror from me and I love how she hung it low for Stella and she also bought the vanity. Brandi and Michelle - you both get the $5.00 off $20 or more for sending these in, thanks!
I wanted to share this amazing transformation with you. I love stories like this - this woman spent only $3,000 and with hard work, salvaged materials and thrift store finds took a 9 ft x 14 ft shack and created this beautiful retreat in the mountains of New York. She has been featured in The New York Times and many magazines.
