Come Thrifting With Me!

I hit a few thrift stores today looking for furniture and didn't buy these two pieces but thought I would show you in case you are not a thrifter to give you an idea of what you might find. Thrift stores are a great place to find great unique, antique, vintage pieces although it is very hit or miss!

Here is a great hall tree I found today, I think it was priced around $65.00 and would be very cute painted and distressed...

Vintage chaise lounges are GREAT to have in your home - if you have a big master bedroom, these are great tucked in a corner with a little table to sit or read! I think this one was around $130 but most thrift stores do reduce prices the longer they are there!

More Inspiration from Pinterest...

Here is some inspiration from Pinterest today...

Cute table!
Add character to a bookshelf by adding cute printed wallpaper!
Cute, rustic way to display a Christmas tree!
I like this color combination!
I'm thinking you might be able to paint an old two tiered coffee table and use as base for day bed like this!
Here are instructions from Pinterest on how to make this: Take 4 thin boards, stain them, put a Lowes plastic door mat over the top, apply cream spray paint and take off...leaving this!
Creative way to hang scarves...

Booth at Prince of Peace Show

Here are some pictures of my booth at the Prince of Peace show I did on Sunday. They had a great crowd and it was really nice because as a vendor, they give you a voucher for free breakfasts, lunches, drinks and snacks so you should consider doing next year if you have crafts to sell!

Some Customer Pieces

I've been painting some pieces for Beth A. and I'd asked her to send me a picture of a paint technique she would like for her dining room table and chairs and this first picture is what she sent me. I love this piece and am almost finished with her dining room table and chairs that I based in white then top coated in gray and distressed to try to get this look

Here is a mirror door I recently did for Beth and Michael B. If you are interested in a mirror door or chalkboard door before Christmas, just let me know!

Here is a little chest I just painted for Jennifer. They are going to add glass knobs I think and use in the new baby's room!

Carter Oosterhouse's 10-Minute Kitchen Makeover

Carter Oosterhouse was on the Rachael Ray show this morning and his segment was on 4 ideas to make over your kitchen in 10 minutes. He had 2 products, one was a peel and stick product that looks like granite to put on countertops and the other product you just apply to appliances and it looks like stainless steel! He said he uses that for shows and it looks great. Another idea was to remove the doors from cabinets and paint the inside - it's a great way to show off your china or pottery, so even if you just did that for a couple of cabinets, it's a good idea.

Moved into The Blu Building

I have moved into The Blu Building now, I just got a little wall space - it is the middle hallway when you walk in. The Blue Building is one of those places where it just keeps going - you just keep finding rooms and nooks and crannys with more stuff - here are some pics!

The Blu Building

I was really needing some wall space since I'm doing so many frames and hanging pieces so I am going to be renting some wall space at The Blu Building in Alabaster. I will be moving in there sometime next week so I will post some pictures after I get moved in. I used to have a space there before I opened my shop so looking forward to being back!

This Weekend's Shows

Here are some pictures from my booth at the Vestavia United Methodist Church's Magical Marketplace that I did yesterday. This was my first year to do this show although it has been going on for many many years. There were lots of vendors with unique items and the ladies of the church were SO nice and took great care of the vendors. I hope to start doing this one every year!

Here are some of the vendor booth at the Vestavia sale. If you are interested in any of the items in these booths, let me know and if I know the vendor, I can give you the contact info!

I had posted on my blog earlier that I was planning on doing the Pantherette show today at the Helena Rec Center but I didn't do a good job of planning how much inventory to have ready before doing 2 shows in a row and I just didn't have enough left and was too tired last night to make more! But I did go by there this morning and here are a few pics!
