New in Etsy Shop, Springdazzle and Pinterest Buzz!

Here are some cute new picture frames I just added to my Etsy shop! (I also have some of these at Serendipity.) My sister took the pics with her iPad and I couldn't believe how good they came out!

Just a reminder that the Springdazzle Craft and Gift Market will be tomorrow, March 30 and Saturday, March 31 from 10:00 - 7:00 both days in the Brook Highland Plaza shopping center across from HomeGoods. I'm not able to do the show but hope to get by there, I know there will be lots of great vendors.

There has been a lot of buzz lately in the news about Pinterest. There was a segment on I think CBS morning news this morning about how women around the country are starting to have "Pinterest Parties", replacing book club parties where the group will share craft ideas they've found on the site and serve food and drinks using recipes found on Pinterest! I think it's a great idea.

They also talked about how Pinterest is also helping small businesses get more customers. Pinning your products on Pinterest could help attract people from all around the world to your site!

Spoonful of Sugar at Mt. Laurel!

I just looked at Angie's "Spoonful of Sugar" Facebook page and it looks like she is getting lots of great new merchandise! (Isn't her photography great?)

She also posted about being interviewed on ABC 33/40:

I will be setting up a small display of our gift shop merchandise at the ABC 33/40 studio for our upcoming interview where we will talk about the new pharmacy and gift shop.. I'll update on the day and time to watch so you can see if you can see your great merchandise displayed!

Customer Pieces

Amber recently brought me 3 pieces of furniture to paint - a black lacquer headboard, an antique green armoire and natural wood chest of drawers. I painted them all an antique white and distressed for her and now they look so cute together in a bedroom!

Etsy's Success Symposium

When you join Etsy as a seller, you become a part of this great big crafters community. Etsy offers a lot of educational opportunities - you can sign up and attend "virtual classrooms" on a topic that interests you and a teacher will lead the classroom and you can type in a question and it will be answered in the class. I just saw on Etsy that they are having a Success Symposium on Friday and offering lots of workshops on different topics and I have signed up for these two:

Get Pinned: Build your Community and Brand with Pinterest with Jasmine Trabelsi

Get Out There: Using Craft and Wholesale Shows to Support Your Small Business

If you are a crafter and have been wanting to try to sell your product, you should consider joining Etsy as a seller - it is very easy to get started and even though it can be hard to get your product noticed with so many sellers, Etsy offers so much help with this and you can link your Etsy up with Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and more!

Serendipity and Sale in Booth at Greystone

I got moved into Serendipity today! I have a tiered table with lots of cute picture frames, burlap crosses, initial boards and more! I still haven't gotten my new digital camera so couldn't take pics but will soon! There are lots of great vendors in the shop so hope you can stop by soon. Serendipity is located in Brook Highland Plaza next to Big Lots.

I also have a big sale in my booth at Greystone Antiques! Here are some items for sale - console table, cupboard, distressed door, vintage chair, end table and cabinet.

Customer Pieces, The Growth of Pinterest!

Ashley and her family will be moving in a new house soon and I have been painting some pieces of her furniture for her. She had emailed me a pic of a table she liked from Ballard Designs and color and I matched the color as closely as I could and they are really happy with it and I'm so glad!

If you have any furniture you would like painted and distressed, just email me a picture and I can give you a price!

I saw on the news this morning that Pinterest is growing faster than Facebook and Twitter! I still haven't had time to set up my own boards and start pinning but I have gotten lots of inspiration from looking!

Customer Pieces, Festivals, and Nate!

My digital camera is messed up so I haven't been able to take pics lately but here are some dining room chairs I recently finished for a customer (she sent pics of them in her dining room). She picked out a great Annie Sloan Chalk paint color, French Linen!

I was told about a couple of other events coming up in the Birmingham area. The dates for the Alabama Symphony Decorator Showhouse is April 21 - May 5 and this year the house is in Vestavia Hills. The First Baptist Church of Irondale is having a Craft Market on Saturday, April 28 from 9:00 - 3:00 and Gardendale's annual Magnolia Festival will be held at the Gardendale Civic Center on May 5 from 10:00 - 5:00. I hope to be able to do both of these shows but just have to see!

Jennifer from the Dear Lillie blog was on The Nate Berkus show today! Her house is so pretty and she has done so many great do-it-yourself projects. She showed how to make a silhouette pillow on the show. Here is a piece of furniture they showed in her house that I really like. I've been doing a lot of customer furniture painting lately and customers are always looking for color combinations and I thought this table was really cute.

Spoonful of Sugar

Angie and her husband Jeremy will be opening a pharmacy in the cute little shopping district in Mt. Laurel soon and she had emailed me several weeks ago that she was looking for local crafters to sell their items in the gift shop part of the pharmacy (the pharmacy itself is called PharmSouth and the gift shop is "Spoonful of Sugar", so cute!). I now have some picture frames, initial boards, burlap crosses and more in the gift shop!

The Spring Festival at Mt. Laurel will be on Saturday, April 14 from 10:00 - 3:00 and Angie told me today that they hope to have the pharmacy open by then but even if it is not officially open, the doors will be open and gift shop items will be available and they will also have a booth outside at the festival.

I have blogged several times about being a vendor at the festivals at Mt. Laurel and they are so much fun and bring in huge crowds with so many great vendors and activities for kids so hope you can come by on the 14th and enjoy the festival and also drop by and meet Angie and Jeremy!
