A Few New Things...

I put a great whitewashed iron fireplace screen in my booth today, a small green bookshelf, an antique table painted in neopolitan blue chalk paint and dark waxed, a large white distressed mirror and a pale sage green tv stand!

Chalkboard Doors

I used to sell chalkboard doors in my shop and I think most people got them to put in their kitchen to write menus, to do lists, shopping lists, game schedules, kids schedules and more! I am putting one in my booth probably tomorrow but if you want one in a custom color, just let me know - they sell at around $49.00!

I'm working on several other great pieces including a fireplace screen, a tv stand, a french provencial dresser, mirror and small bookshelf and will post pics when painted!

New Pieces Coming, Pickers Sale and More!

I was totally out of furniture and found some really cute pieces today so I will post pictures as soon as I get them painted.

I blogged a couple of months ago about the pickers I met at the Briarwood Flea Market - I had an email from them the other day that they have scheduled their sale for October 24th. They travel across the country picking and they said they have some good architectural pieces and going on another trip soon so hopefully I can get some great things at their sale to pass on to you!

Here's a few pics from Pinterest today - I love how this piece is painted, I will have to try this soon!
This would be a cute idea for a child's dresser - just paint the drawers or insets of the drawers in chalk paint and label what is in each drawer to help them find things quicker!
I don't know how much rollers are but any old crates or pallets would be so cute with rollers to store toys and other things!

Halloween is just around the corner and I will blog soon about creative ways to decorate for Halloween!

The Lettered Cottage - Design TV Pilot Episode

So this is really neat - you may be familiar with the blog, The Lettered Cottage - it is Kevin and Layla Palmer and they are from Prattville, AL! I read on their blog that they just shot a pilot episode for HGTV and went to Suwanee, GA and transformed a room on a budget. Shawna of the Perfectly Imperfect blog and her husband went along (they must be friends). Anyway, I think they will have to wait to see if the show gets picked up but you can go to their blog, theletteredcottage.net to read and see pics about their adventure!

New in Booth Today!

Here are a few things I put in my booth today. I've started making these mirror doors and they are great to put in a corner and use as a full-length mirror! This one is a pale green/gray.

Komen Race for the Cure in Birmingham, AL!

I went by my friend Susan's house yesterday and her and her daughter Hannah were in their driveway painting furniture! They did a great job but while I was there Susan gave me a Race for the Cure sign to put in my yard. Susan is District President of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and the Race for the Cure is their national philanthropy so Zeta's are always very involved!

This year will be the 20th Anniversary for the Race for the Cure and it will be held on Saturday October 15th at Linn Park in Birmingham. There are so many ways you can be involved in the Race for the Cure - you can volunteer, you can form a team of friends, family or coworkers, or you can be a participant and run in the 5K or the 1 mile fun run (or you can walk this one, too!). I'm sure breast cancer has touched us all in some way or another and this is a great way to get involved and support a great cause!

New in Booth

I got wiped out in my booth this weekend which is a good thing except I didn't have much to put in today so I will be shopping tomorrow. This cute bright green hutch is mainly for display but I did price it at $89.00 in case someone wants to buy it. The only issue is it had that terrible shiny laminate on top of the chest part which is so hard to protect and so the hutch top part may scuff some of the paint off when moved!
