House Proud on Nate, Furniture and Bridesmaids Order

Nate Berkus showed the cutest home on the House Proud segment of his show today.  The owner is Joanna Madden and when I googled to find pics, I realized I have seen her home before in Country Living magazine.  She designs and has a jewelry business called Findings and her and her mom have a shop called Summerhouse.  She is great at arranging collections of her finds in her home like the vintage suitcases, mirrors and pottery!

Here is a piece I am working on for Ashley.  She was trying to get a neutral color to go in dining room and I got Natural Linen by Glidden and I really like it.  I was trying to show the color but it doesn't show up so great in these pics...

Sorry for the bad pics today but this is a shelf I am selling to another dealer but I was trying to find a paint for the piece and had a tan color I didn't like and several craft paints so I started mixing and came up with a sort of gray/taupe that I really liked...so...if you have some paint colors you don't like or aren't using, you might trying mixing and see what you come up with!

Here is a frame order I recently did (I hadn't added the twine yet in this pic) for bridesmaids gifts: a fun mix of stripes!

I took some more frames to Spoonful of Sugar at Mount Laurel this weekend and here are some pics from the shop...

Love Birds Sign Photo Prop, New in Etsy Shop, Chest/Nightstand

Here is a great wedding or engagement photo prop I have in my inventory now...

I was inspired by a picture I saw on the beautiful Style Me Pretty site - here is a link to this photo shoot with beautiful natural elements used for this wedding (http://www.stylemepretty.com/2011/02/25/love-bird-photo-shoot-by-amy-majors-photography/)

It looks like they actually dipped the LOVE BIRDS letters in bird seed and it's so cute...

Here are some new frames just listed in my Etsy Shop!

Here is a piece I just finished, may go in Greystone this weekend, will let you know!

I met Sarah Beth when I had my shop and she has been a great customer and I wanted to let you know that her and her husband are starting an online auction this weekend to support their adoption process for their child in Ethiopia.  If you have a chance, I hope you will check out their auction - they have lots of great items available!

Before and After of Chairs, Illuminary and Frames!

Shannon and her husband bought a dining room table from me several months ago and recently found 4 chairs to go with it through Craigslist.  Shannon got this cute fabric at Hobby Lobby and I painted the chairs antique white and recovered the seats and I think they will be so cute with the table which is painted chocolate brown on top and antique white legs!

Here is the before of the chairs:

And here is the after...

Here is a cool piece I am putting in booth at Greystone.  There is a door that opens up and you put a candle so you can illuminate it.  Would be cute for a rustic wedding!!

Here are a couple of new frames in Etsy shop!

By Royal Decree and You Are My Sunshine...

I have to brag today about my nephew Austin.  He's only 18 but has been pursuing his passion for music for several years.  He's now lead singer/guitarist for a band called "By Royal Decree" in Birmingham.  Their facebook page is http://www.facebook.com/ByRoyalDecree.  They have been Battle of the Bands winner and also played at Zydeco.  Maybe I'm a little prejudiced but I think Austin and the whole band are incredible!

(Austin is second from the right!)

Here is a pic of a sign I recently did for Michelle.  She calls her boyfriend "sunshine"!  If you would like a custom sign and live in the Birmingham area, please email Karen at kbush422@gmail.com!

I saw the cutest chandelier on Pinterest made out of Rock Candy!!  It looked so easy but I didn't find rock candy right away so I found these crystal things at Hobby Lobby.  I will show a pic of mine when I get it done.  Here is the one I saw on Pinterest, if you want tutorial, just search for Rock Candy Chandelier on Pinterest.
