Paint Technique

I was painting some mirrors for a local antique dealer and they were a bright gold to start with and she asked me to put a silver on top and let a little gold show through then distress a little. I have this great stuff called Rub-N-Buff that comes in a little tube (you can get at Michael's) so I rubbed that on top of the gold, then also had a Rub-N-Buff tube called "Patina" which is a pretty turquoise color so I rubbed that in randomly, then added a chocolate brown in some of the raised ornate areas then distressed with sandpaper. So if you have some old bright gold ornate frames and want a change, this is an easy way to get a different look
